So many of us are going green and love to save money, so today’s challenge might be for you! My pal, Cheryl, recently went back to an office job and inherited lots of items from the previous owners. While cute in their day, these items needed a little sprucing up to match up with her more modern style.

Here’s the outgoing wall-hanging mailbox that she found. As we say in the altering world, it had “good bones” and a great structure for this project.

I recovered the back of the box and the front pocket using papers that match the other new items in her office. A simple stamped “MAIL” using my very favorite myStampBOX alphabet, Royal Flush, was the bold and simple choice for the front. A final strip of ribbon on the top edge of the front pocket helps break up the patterns that coordinate without being too matchy-matchy.

I was able to stamp directly on the striped ribbon using StazOn ink and the swirled leaf from He Loves Me. I love the extra little detail it adds in an unexpected place. I hope you get a chance to upscale something for your home or office decor using stamping!

myStampBOX stamps: Royal Flush, He Loves Me; StazOn ink; Autumn Leaves papers; Mod Podge; Nestabilities die; Sizzix Big Kick; Bazzill cardstock; Basic Grey Precision Files; unknown ribbon.

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the MyStamp BOX blog today! I hope you are enjoying summer just as much as I do!

Today I will show you how you can make some fun jewelry with chipboard and stamps.

For this little project I used the “He loves me”-set.

First stamp the petal outline on a piece of chipboard and cut it out with a craft knife or sharp scissors.

Glue them on the back of the paper you want to use and cut them out again. Repeat this on the backside of the cutout petals. Then stamp the desired petal stamp on the covered chipboard finishing it off with the petal outline stamp. Color the edges of the chipboard with a permanent marker.

Cover the whole petal with Versamark and emboss it with UTEE. I used 2 layers to get a smooth surface.

Finally make a little hole at the top of the petals and apply the earring part.

You can also just add a little ring and slide a leather string through to make a fun necklace!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial, thank you for stopping by!

Today we will share with you our last round of stamping tips.

Janet: My grandnephew Evan had a Super Hero theme for his birthday party so I made him a cute card with a caped crusader on it. I used the star stamp from the Pennants set to make the background on the card. My tip is to not forget about the envelope. I used the same star stamp and decorated both the front and back of it therefore making it a cohesive set.

Bettina: Similar to Janet I like to use more than the front of my cards for stamping. I often stamp the card before folding it so that part of the design spills onto the back. The flower cards are both done this way. On the bottom card I added stamped and cut paper petals as well. I love to used large stamps and stamp them closer to the edges so that only part of the image shows. This makes them look even larger.

Some sentiment stamps are fairly long. These are ideal for bending into different shapes. In this card I curved the stamp to make use of the white space and to add more dynamic. You can use any long and narrow stamps this way, borders, stitches… Try a curve, wave or even a circle…

Hi everyone! Welcome to the myStamp Box blog on this lovely Friday!

Today I want to share with you a layout I made about my beautiful daughter (she doesn’t want me to say that, but I think she is ) and the long road
(3 years) she had to go to get the perfect smile.

Because this is quite a long story and I also wanted to add a couple of the appointment cards I made an envelope behind the pictures that holds some of the cards and 3 tags with journaling.

I used a paper that had a white dotted pattern and stamped with the little love spiral stamp from the “He loves me” <http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=31> set in the white dots, creating a fun background.

I really like the look of sewing on my layout but sometimes it just takes to much time to get the sewing machine out, change the tread etc. And why
bother if we have such a wonderful alternative as the “Repeat after me” <http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=150> stamp set. On a previous layout of me you could have seen that I love how you can bend these stamps and adjust them to the shape you want to use on your layout. Here I used both the zigzag and the plain stitch and I love how they look combined!

I used the “Bold Blocks” <http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=138> set to draw the attention to the pictures pointing out the one taken during the not so fun period and the one taken when she was feeling good and happy that it was all done!

Finally I used the Picture Perfect stamp from the “Seal it!” <http://mystampbox.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&produc
ts_id=33> set to create the hearts of the flowers. The perfect stamp for a perfect picture!

Thank you for stepping by today! Hope you got a little inspired to get your stamps out and create!
Have a lovely weekend!

Hi there! Today is my first post as a DT member for myStamp BOX and I’m so excited! It’s Thursday so step-by-step day and here’s the layout I created for you:

To make the flower I first stamped several petals from the “He loves me…” set on patterend paper. Make sure the pattern on the paper isn’t too bold so the pattern of the stamps doesn’t go unnoticed!

Cut out all the petals and then stamp with the little “thank you” and “friend” circle stamps from the same set several times on kraft paper. Punch them out using a 3/4″ circle punch.

Cut out a circle from kraft cardstock. Put a big acrylic block on top of the circle. Place the plain stitch stamp from the “Repeat after me” set on the block just inside the circle edge. Stamp on the circle. Place a piece of scrap paper over the already stamped part to avoid overlapping.

Now adhere the little stamped circles on the back of the big cirlce and on top of that the petals, with the right side down.

Take a piece of kraft cardstock and place a book page on top. Stamp around the page with the zigzag stamp from the “Repeat after me” set. Put the flower on top and add a picture.

Take the name/pace/date stamp from the “Bold Blocks“ set and stamp it on patterend paper.

Ad a border to the right side of the layout and stamp over it with the plain stitch. And now comes the coolest part I totally love this!!! This stamp is so thin and long that you can bend it in almost every shape you want to on the acrylic block. This way you can create the coolest stitched effects!

Now how fun is that?!

Finally add you text and stamp 2 star circles from the “Seal it!” set on patterend paper, cut them out and finish up your layout.

Hope you liked this little tutorial! Happy stamping!

I have found so many uses for this stamp set besides making flowers!

I used Archival ink so that it wouldn’t smear or run when I added my finish coat material. Once the papers were glued down inside the bezels I added a thick coat of Ranger Glossy Accents and allowed to dry, popping any air bubbles that formed while pouring.

Once it was dry it added a tiny line of Stardust Stickles around the edge of each bezel for some sparkle. I just love how it turned out! The stamped swirl is a fun addition to the vintage text paper that still allows the words to be seen. I hope you give stamping on jewelry a try!

Today’s my day to share some recent myStampBOX projects with you! I have a special scrappy pal who loves to trade goodies with me through the mail, and I made this card to tuck into her next package.

I made the card base from embossed Core’dinations cardstock, one of our preferred product partners. Honestly, I could use this stuff on every project! My scrappy pal and I chat on instant messenger often, so I thought she’d enjoy this silly sentiment from the Whatever set of stamps.

I also made some fun notes to slip into my sons’ lunch boxes. I printed simple sentiments onto white cardstock and then stamped with a variety of images from myStampBOX. I stamped some with colored ink, and for others I stamped in black and colored in the images with markers. After inking the edges of the cards I laminated them for durability.

I had fun mixing and matching images from six different sets of myStampBOX stamps on these cards including Passport to Adventure, He Loves Me, Seal It!, Programmed Robots, Itty Bittys and Wishing You Sunshine.

I also made a few lunch box notes with Halloween images from the Boo! set of stamps. I’m so happy that October is here – I use this set so much! I hope you find fun ways to use your stamps in ways that make you and the special people in your life happy. Enjoy your stamping!

There are often times when I am stuck with an idea for a card and a sketch is just what I need to jumpstart my creativity. So this month I am bringing you this sketch that I have made to help to jumpstart your creativity…

and here is my take on the sketch:

For my card I used this great stamp from the Seal It set and then mounted my stamped image onto two pieces of cardstock cut into circles. I then stamped the leaves from the He Loves Me set onto blue cardstock and used them to create this awesome flower. The entire flower was adhered to the card using Helmar Zap dots. I then distressed the edges of my cardstock and added some doodles with a white gel pen. I hope you’ll find inspiration from this post and create your own red, white, and blue card to celebrate this amazing summer month!!!

Happy crafting….Lynda

Many of us like to experiment with stamp sets to see just how many different and unusual things we can create using just one set. Today my project uses the He Loves Me set of stamps from myStampBOX in a rather unusual way. I focused on the swirled petal stamp circled in red on the image below.

I stamped the swirls onto a green grid paper from Basic Grey’s new Origins line. I embossed with clear powder and handcut each petal to create scales for my die cut fish. I liked using clear ink and powder which gave a subtle shine and texture to the scales while still allowing the original pattern of the paper to shine through. You can always change out the ink or powder to best suit your project.

The scales were layered onto my die cut fish. I inked and sprayed with Glimmer Mist to add some extra shimmer. I covered the front edge of the scales with some fiber to finish things off nicely.

I mounted my embellished fish onto another piece of Origins paper. The dots on the paper reminded me of water bubbles, so it was the perfect background for my card. I stamped a circle sentiment from the Seal It! stamps onto a white area of the paper and connected it to the fish with some rhinestone “air bubbles.” The final card is fun and whimsical.

Be sure to play with your stamps to see what kinds of interesting things you can create. You just might find some designs that are off the hook!

Happy stamping, Jolene

Anyone who knows me, or has read my blog, knows that I am obsessed with shoes. I am usually caught in the dilemma of wether to spend my money on shoes or on scrap supplies, but really, I think it about balances out.

Anyway, a while ago I found these pages in a German magazine: lots of shoes and purses, in all kinds of colors. While the other pages, with lots of super chic shoes in black, brown and white, were definitely interesting (and the shoes probably more versatile… grin), the first two pages, with shoes in bold, popping colors, made me gasp. Pure color delight!

So, my challenge for you today… let this spread inspire you.

This is what I came up with:

This LO is all about the colors. I started out with red CS for the background. I heat embossed the magenta circles (from the BOO stamp set), the green hexagon (Hive of Life) and the turquoise flower petals (He loves me). I then layered three different pattern papers as well as two different overlays, and then added the picture, which is also heat-embossed with teal embossing powder around the edges. Last, but not least, I added a skull die-cut out of teal vellum on top of which I layered the title.

So, have at it. I cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Have you ever played with flocking fibers? Flocking is the process of adding millions of individual cut particle fibers (called flock) onto adhesive to create a soft, fuzzy texture. Flocking is often found inside jewelry boxes. You can also add flocking to your craft projects when you want to achieve that same fuzzy texture. Here are the materials I used:

myStampBOX stamps: He Loves Me, Birthday Numbers

Clear Scraps 4 inch acrylic circle

Helmar Premium Craft Glue

CraftFlocking.com flock: Black

Tsukineko The Essential Glue Pad

QuicKutz embossing folder

Colorbox fluid chalk ink

Zig Writer

Basic Grey Bittersweet 6 x 6 paper pad and Precision Files

American Crafts cardstock

Flocking is a simple process. Stamp your images using an “inkpad” that’s covered with glue. Dump or spoon flocking fibers onto the stamped area and allow to dry fully. Once dry, gently brush excess fibers back into the bag or jar for use on other projects. The hardest thing about flocking is the wait! I stamped the flower petals and flower center and flocked with black.

You can see how much texture and softness the flocking adds to this flower. Change out the flocking and paper colors to match just about any project. Consider flocking spiderwebs, baby booties, Santa’s beard or animal fur. You can also stamp an image and “color” the image by applying glue with a small paintbrush. Add flocking as described above.

Here are a few extra notes about my card. I embossed the Clear Scraps circle with a QuicKutz embossing folder and sanded the back (smooth) side of the circle. This allowed the raised circles to remain perfectly clear.

I stamped the “Happy” sentiment from the Birthday Numbers set by coloring in only the word with a marker.

Flocking is available in the stamping section of many craft and scrapbook stores. Check it out! - Jolene

Hi all, Gudrun here. It is finally summer in norway, the sun is shining allmost all day and all night – and the norwegians enjoy the long, beautiful days outside.

I have also had fun making some easy, cute flowers. This is a small project is ideal for outdoor-scrapping.

I have used scraps of some colorful, happy papers and the wonderful stamp-set “He loves me”. This is absolutely one of my favourite sets I used buttons for the center, a little piece of silvery thread and a wooden stick.

I added three leaves at a time on my acrylic block, and stamped on my paperscraps. I wanted to make 6 leaves of each color – so my flower was made with the same paper, but each leaf can have different papers and colors if you like.

Cut the stamped leaves from the colorful paper.

I glued all the 6 leaves together in the middle of the flower.

I made a little hole in the center of the flower with a needle, and secured the wooden stick with a little bit glue.

I slightly folded the leaves a little bit to make them look more “natural”.

I digged in to my favourite buttons and found a large button that would fit as a center on my flower.

I glued the button to the center of my flower.

VOILA! the cutest flowers to decorate your summer-table in a vase with other flowers, or a bunch of them in a oasis.

Have a wonderful summer – and happy scrapping!

I am always looking for ways to repurpose materials when scrapbooking. One of the things I’ve been saving are the transparent sheets that the myStamp BOX stamps come mounted on. It is the perfect weight to make custom embellishments, in this case a flower.

Materials: He Loves Me stamp set, water pen filled with blending solution, alcohol inks, paint pallette, Staz-On ink, transparent sheets

Before you begin, prepare alcohol inks. Drop several drops of each of your colours into the paint pallette and allow to dry.

Step One: Stamp numerous petals on the transparent sheet using Staz-On ink.

Step Two: Turn the sheet over and add colour to the petals painting on the reverse side of the stamped image. If you paint on the front, you will remove your stamped image.

To paint, simply put your brush filled with blending solution into the dried alcohol ink and lift the colour. Make sure the brush isn’t too wet or your colours will bleed out too much. You may need to wipe your brush on a scrap piece of paper each time you pick up more ink. Do the same when you wish to change colours.

Step Three: Allow the ink to dry and cut the petals out. Slightly crease them down the middle to give them some dimension.

Final Step: Use the flower petals to create a custom embellishment for a card or other scrapbooking project.

—————————————————————————————-

Another Earth Day tip: Try using the white cardstock sheets that often come in page protectors to make your card. What are some of your favourite recycling tips?

—————————————————————————————-

I absolutely love using the Oval Office set for adding just the right sentiment to my cards.

Isn’t this bee just the cutest? It was made by Stephanie Hart of My Little Bit of Whimsy.

I hope this tutorial has sparked a new or renewed interest in alcohol inks.

Don’t forget to do something special for Mother Earth today.

Happy EARTH DAY!

Sometimes when I get a set of stamps I get locked into one way of using them. I decided to step outside my Stamp BOX to find fun new ways to use a set of stamps called He Loves Me. Here’s one of them! I used the swirled petal stamp and clear embossing ink on navy blue alphabet letters. I finished by heat embossing with white powder. The letters now have some shine and pattern but are still their original bold color.

Of course this cute stamp set was made for making flowers, so I had to try them for their intended purpose. I stamped the solid petal outline on one patterned paper and the doodled outline petal on another. I handcut all the petals and assembled the flower with a stamped circle sentiment, also from the He Loves Me set. I molded the flower petals around my finger to curl them a bit before adhering them to the card. I applied adhesive only at the tips of the petals closest to the flower center so that they could have some dimension.

There are always new ways to use your stamps. Have fun experimenting!

Today’s show and tell post features the He Loves Me Set of stamps. Like many of the myStampBOX designers, I love to experiment with my stamps to see how many different ways I can use them. I was brainstorming ideas for this set and thought about the patterned petals. I decided to focus on the petal stamp with swirls (circled in red.)

I stamped with clear ink and embossing powder on a green grid patterned paper from Basic Grey’s new Origins line. I handcut several petals and layered them onto a QuicKutz die cut fish made from cardstock. I added several shades of inking, Glimmer Mist and some fibers for extra detailing.

I adhered the fish with pop dots to another piece of paper from the Origins line which reminded me of bubbles. I stamped the circle sentiment from the Seal It! stamps on one of the areas with white space and added a few gems in between it and the fish. The bubble paper was mounted on a kraft card with some fun plaid ribbon (which reminds me of a fisherman’s shirt.) The end result is a fun and whimsical card.

Try looking at your stamp sets to see just how many you can use in unusual ways. You might just find ones that are off the hook!

Happy stamping! – Jolene
