Hi all. Gudrun here.

I’m getting ready for summer-vacation right now, and am busy packing all the stuff I need for a couple of weeks at the south coast of Norway.

This year I thought it would be a great idea to journal a bit to help my self remember all the good memories from this summer – so I created a little summer journal to bring along.

This is a fun and easy to make journal, and I had a blast making the stamped cover. I made my cover with flower-stamps, heat-embossing and glimmermist for a really summery feel.

1. For this project you’ll need:

“Abundant blossoms” and “Funky Flowers” stamp sets, acrylic block

white cardstock 8,5×11 inch or A4, turquoise cardstock 8,5×11 inch or A4, note-paper 8,5×11inch or A4

Clear or pearl embossing-powderm, Embossing stamp pad

heat gun, glimmer mist, hole-punch, jewelry tread or embroidery floss, glass-beads for embellishment, sewing machine.

2. Start stamping flowers with embossing ink on to your white cardstock

3. Cover the stamped areas with embossing-powder. Remove all exceed powder from the cardstock before heating.

4. Heat the stamped areas until embossing-powder melts to a glossy finish.

5. When all areas of the cardstock is covered with stamped and embossed flowers (it might be a good idea to stamp and emboss the cardstock little by little ) spray the cardstock with glimmer mist. I used two shades of turquoise and blue. Let dry.

6. Using a paper towel dry away all exceed color from the embossed areas. The flowers will now show clearly against the blue background.

7. Fold the turquoise cardstock in half, cut the stamped and “inked” cardstock in half and make it fit to the front and back of your turquoise book cover. Attach the homemade patterned paper to the turquoise cardstock using your sewing machine.

I glued a nice patterned paper on the inside of the cover too.

8. Fold the note-papers in half and add them to the inside of your book-cover. Make holes for the binding using a hole-punch or a crop-a-dile.

9. Using double tread, bind your book and tie a knot on the outside of the book. Leaving the loose ends and add beads as embellishments.

VOILA the summer-journal is ready to use.

Hope You feel inspired.

Happy summer – and happy creating!

Hi everyone!! I’m so happy it’s my (Monique’s) turn to post a challenge on the myStampBOX blog!! I decided on a challenge based on advertisements and photos I found in random magazines lying around my house. I get my inspiration from a lot of things and magazines are definitely high on my list of sources of inspiration!

The inspiration for the first project I created comes from this advertisement I found in a home decor magazine: a black & white collage with a little splash of red:

I created this card using lots of black & white & a little red and stamps from “Colorful Companions” (the butterfly), “En Cette Occasion” (the sentiment) and “Seal It!” (the little heart). The butterfly is heat embossed with some white embossing powder. Love it!!

the embossed butterfly:

Then the second advertisement I used, is this one:

What attracted me to this advertisement are many things: the design, the many details, the colours…., well everything really.

I created this layout of my daughter and tried to capture the same carefree atmosphere of the photo above, using stamps from “Abundant Blossoms” (flowers), “Road Trip” (the suitcase, the stamp, the seal) and “Snapshot” (the photo camera and expression).

And then last but not least this advertisement caught my eye:

mainly because I love this green colour and love the combination with white. I used it to create this decoration for the present my son wants to give his teacher to thank her for two wonderful years.

For this last project I used the label stamp from the “Road Trip” set.

This is it!! I hope you liked it and if you decide to give this challenge a try don’t forget to post a link to your blog in the comments section of this post!! I would love to see what you create!

Happy scrapping and see you next time!

Hi everyone!

Today i want to show you a layout with tone on tone satmped embellishments. It gives something different, very subtle i think.

I like to mix genres! This layout is a kind of girly layout with the flowers but it’s about renovating our house so the subject is masculine…

I have used the “Abundant blossoms” set for the flowers and the “Snapshot” set for the photo corners. I decided to stamp the flowers with the same color as the paper beneath them. So green flowers en green paper and red flowers on red paper. I embellished the center of the small flowers with pearls.

Hi everyone!

Today it’s my (Monique’s) turn to post on myStampBOX blog!!

I want to show you a fun technique I recently used: stamping on t-shirts!!

I think everybody has them: plain t-shirts without a single print on them. When my youngest son complained about one of them it hit me!! I would turn his boring green (or white or any other color) t-shirt into a funny one!!

Here’s what I did:

I gathered all the items I needed: the t-shirt, a piece of cardboard, my myStampBOX stamps (Road Trip), a solvent ink (in this case I used StazOn) and an acrylic block:

Before I got started I put the cardboard inside the t-shirt to smoothen the surface on which I was going to stamp to ensure a clear stamped image:

Then I chose my first stamp and stuck it to my acrylic block. Before I stamped on the t-shirt I tried a few times on a piece of paper first and then I stamped on the t-shirt:

I repeated this step with a few other stamps I liked:

And in the end the result looked like this:

Of course once I started decorating one t-shirt I couldn’t stop!!

I got out the next stamping sets “Abundant Blossoms” and “Colorful Companions” and an orange t-shirt:

and then a white t-shirt…. and then my Posca pens…. and this is the result:

and my son????

He’s very happy with his “new” old shirt!!

This is it for now! Hope you liked it!! And don’t forget: if you give this fun technique a go too, please leave me a comment with a link to your post!!

Please, don’t forget to check back here tomorrow to see what Tina has created for you!!!

Hello everyone!

I took a lot of pictures when flowers started to bloom a few weeks ago and i wanted to make a layout with those pictures.

The layout is really simple: 2 patterned papers and a cardstock, a few stamps from the set “abundant blossoms” and some punched butterflies.

This stamp set is great to make accents for layouts, i love it!

Here are some close ups of the stamped accents:

I decided to stamp the flowers with a red ink. Then i cut closely around the stamped image and mounted it on pop dots to add volume to the page. I stamped the stem and the leaf with a brown ink on green cardstock.

Hope you like it!

It’s that time of year again and we all know that we will be looking for creative teacher gifts in the upcoming weeks. Here is a super quick and fun gift for your kiddos to give to that favorite teacher.

Supplies Needed:

Itty Bittys Stamp Set, Mini Alpha Small Box Set, Black Ink, Anything to color in your stamp images, a small frame, cardstock cut to the size of the frame (to be used as a background), white cardstock for stamping your images, scissors and adhesive.

Using the Itty Bittys Stamp Set stamp 8 images of your choice onto white cardstock.

Color each image in or as many as you like using glitter pens, pencils, paints etc. Then cut each image out leaving a small white border around each.

Using adhesive attach the 8 images to your background cardstock cut to the size of your frame.

Using the Mini Alphas Stamp Set stamp the word ENJOY with black ink. In my example I also embossed the word with black embossing powder. Cut out each letter and mount them on pink cardstock. Cut each out leaving a small border of pink.

Attach the letters to the font lower right side of your project and insert into your frame.

And there you have it…a fun and easy teacher gift. You can use any of the wonderful myStamp Box sets to create a project of your own like this. Some suggestions I have that may work really well are Abundant Blossoms, Any Occasion Stamps, Colorful Companions, Neighborhoods (for a new neighbor that just moved in). There are so many to choose from you really can’t go wrong with whatever you pick.

Have fun making your teacher gifts this year, make sure to share a link to your creations with us here at myStamp Box.

Enjoy! Maryfrances

Hi everyone, it’s me, Monique, again!!

As you all know today is Friday, but do you also know what that means here at myStampBOX???? It means it’s a “Show & Tell” day!!!

So what am I going to “show and tell” you?? I’ll start by showing you the stamps I’ve been using to create a door hanger! Normally I’m a layout kinda girl, but for this month I wanted to do something different and decided on this door hanger.

Here are my favorite stamps, Abundant Blossoms:

And now I’ll tell you about the door hanger I created.

I started by gathering all my materials and stamping and hand cutting a few of the flowers on different colors of papers:

I also hand cut (and hand stitched) a few other items and mounted everything with foam glue on the paper (My Little Shoebox). I added a border, some text and some ribbon…. and this is the result:

And two close-ups:

I had so much fun creating this and sure hope you’ll give it a go too!!! and don’t forget to show me if you do!! Just put a link to your blog in the post and I’ll make sure to come and have a look!

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to come back next Monday to see what Bettina has in store for us!!

Have a lovely, scrappy day!! Monique

Thanks for visiting the myStampBOX blog today!! This is my first post on the blog and I’m so happy to do this!! I want to show you a spring layout I created, using the wonderful stamp set “Abundant Blossoms“.

The banner I created through cutting up three stamped flowers of the stamp set. I then got out my sewing machine and sewed them to my paper. Here’s a close-up for you:

Don’t you just love these flowers?? Even the grass on the side of the little gate is created using the flower stamp.

This is it. Hope you enjoyed my layout and I wish you happy scrapping!!

This weekend all of Canada will be celebrating Thanksgiving. I wanted to share with you a quick and easy card that would be perfect for any occasion, but particularly so for this upcoming holiday.

For this project I used two sets of myStampBOX stamps: “Tree for all Seasons” and “Abundant Blossoms“. We’re going to use the tree trunk from the first set, and the maple leaf from the second set.

To complete this project, in addition to the above stamps you’ll need the following supplies:

Patterned Paper (at least 3 different colors/designs) – I used the new “Amber Road” collection from Pink Paislee.

Red & Green Ink ( I used Stampin’ Up Stampin Spots in Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke)

Helmar Liquid Scrapdots

Adhesive Runner (I used the Helmar Quick Fix)

Ranger Perfect Pearls and Perfect Medium Marker

Gold Embossing Powder

Small detail Scissors or a craft knife

A heat embossing tool

a foam stamping pad is optional but recommended

Versamark or other embossing ink

Attach the tree trunk stamp to your stamp block. Apply your embossing medium (Versamark) to the stamp. Place a foam stamping pad under your paper. This will ensure a nice, crisp image transfer.

Sprinkle your stamped image with the embossing powder. If you have a tray to put underneath it makes things alot easier, but it isn’t required.

Shake the excess powder off, making sure that your image is completely covered. Using your heat tool, heat up the powder using a quick, circular motion. You don’t want to stay on one spot or you could scorch your powder and ruin your image.

Notice how the top part of the tree is shiny gold and the bottom half is still dull. That’s how you know that your embossing has taken effect. Continue until your entire tree is shiny gold.

Once the embossing is finished, use your precision scissors or cutting knife to cut out the image. Leave a little bit of the paper around the edges as this will keep your piece sturdy and help it stand out more.

Attach the tree trunk to the card using dimensional dots. I prefer Helmar Liquid Scrapdots but other dots will work as well.

Now, apply the Maple Leaf stamp from the Abundant Blossoms set. We want to make our leaves looks more realistic, so we’re going to layer our two colors of ink.

Apply the red ink randomly onto your stamp, then apply the green ink making sure to overlap the two colors.

Stamp your first leaf, then wipe off the stamp and do the same thing again until you have stamped 7 or 8 images. Try to make them all a little different.

When you have all of your images done, pick out the 5 or 6 that you like the best and cut them out.

Attach the leaves to your card. Apply some to the top, and some to the bottom so that it looks like the leaves have fallen from your tree.

Take your Perfect Medium marker and color over a few of the leaves, then brush them with Perfect Medium pigment powder. Brush off the excess. This will give your leaves a sheen when the light hits your card.

Using your Perfect Medium marker, draw a border line around the edge of one of the pieces of patterned paper. Brush over the line with pigment and brush off the excess.

And there you have your completed card! Wouldn’t that be great to give to the hostess (or, if you are the hostess, one of your guests) with a nice bottle of wine?

Happy Thanksgiving Canada

Until next time,

I decided to play with my stamps and markers this past week while on vacation and stumbled upon a really fun technique I’d like to share with you! So grab your stamps and your favourite scrappy markers!

I first coloured a butterfly from the Colorful Companions set in a solid red colour.

Next, I took an orange marker and coloured just the edges/tips of the butterfly wings.

Then I stamped my image to create this really cool two toned butterfly image. Just a note…if you aren’t very quick the marker ink might dry a bit, just breathe on the stamp and the warm breath will moisten the ink again.

Below is my completed card using the butterfly image along with another card using orange and green on a flower from the Abundant Blossoms set. They “HEY!” is from the incredibly cool and versatile Lots of Dots Alpha set!

Hope you’ve learned a new technique today! If so, give it a try…I think you’ll really like the outcome!

Happy Stamping!
