This first card I made for a boy’s first communion. I stamped the monkey onto some patterned papers, then trimmed and paper pieced him together. The frame he’s standing in is the polaroid frame from the Pixel Perfect set, which is clear embossed onto white cardstock.

The gift is also from the Holiday Monkeys set. Here it is stamped with black StazOn, and then colored with Faber-Castell Big Brush Pens. The sentiment reads ‘Hooray’.

I used that same gift with the same coloring  for this second card. A very clean and simple card, which can be used for various occasions. The sentiment is  from the Programmed Robots set. I didn’t ink the word ‘programmed’ and the underscore at the end of the sentiment, and ended up with a perfect versatile sentiment.

Hope you got a bit inspired today to get more use out of your stamp sets.

I love the classy look of black and white photos but I also wanted a touch of fun so I created a card using black, white and one color – love how the bright blue from Tim Holtz’s Broken China Distress Ink pops against the black and white card stock!  Since I was only using black and white card stock I layered the card stock several times.  I used the circle stamp from myStamp Box’s Funky Flowers set and ‘it’s your b-day’ sentiment from myStamp Box’s Mention It set.  I hope this inspirers you to create a project using black, white & one color.

I stamped the tiny beverage glass from Symbols in black and used my iRock tool to add tiny bling to outline the design. (Talk about patience!) Stamped starbursts from the Pennants set added an extra pop of pattern on the subtle honeycomb paper. The sentiment is from my favorite words set called Whatever! This fun card is ready to jot down some details for my pal so we can schedule our next pool date.

Sometimes it seems like we are scrambling for a quick birthday or thank you card so I decided to make a set of note cards for my son to have quick access to, though he liked them so much he said he was going to keep them – how cute!

The images are colored with Prisma color pencils and gamsol with accents of Smooch and Smooch Glitz!

I absolutely love the Friday Night Stencil alphabet set. And even though it is a big alpha set, on certain occasion it is also possible to use it to stamp a sentiment on a card.

To get a sentiment like this centered onto the card, I usually trace two pencil lines were the letters will sit on and then mark the center of those lines. Start your stamping in the middle of the word and work your way out to the left and the right. Give everything some time to dry and the erase your pencil lines.

For this particular card, I also made a pink version. They make a fun set together.

I hope you give this a try and build your own sentiments to a card some time.

I started by stamping the bubble wrap image from Backgrounds in shades of pink, purple, and green Distress Inks. I allowed the image to stamp off the left, top, and bottom edges. Next I stamped butterflies from Colorful Companions using the same inks, fluttering randomly over the bubble wrap pattern. I stamped the main butterfly two times in black Archival ink on a scrap of white cardstock and colored them using Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol for blending. After cutting both images out, I glued one flat to the card and the other with the wings lifted. I completed the card with a birthday sentiment from Straighforward stamped next to the focal point butterfly.

I added a few touches of shimmer to butterfly wings using a glitter pen for some added fun. The finished card is pretty and very lightweight. The next time you reach for patterned papers and lots of bulky embellishments, consider making a big impact with stamping alone. I’m sure you’ll love the effect!

I’ve been collecting (washi) tape for a while now and I figured I’d better use it before my Mount Washi Tape turns into horribly outdated Mount Washi Tape. This is what I came up with:

For this card I adhered washi tape to a piece of card, stamped over it with StazOn and then cut the image out. myStamp BOX sets used: Lovely Houses, Itty Bittys, Cherry Blossoms and Border Lines.

I really liked the look of all the different tapes next to each other and thought they would make a great background:

myStamp BOX set used: Holiday Monkey. The hearts were colored with Faber-Castell Gelato and a wet brush.

And then I just wanted to get a little bit more messy and created this:

myStamp BOX sets used: Border Lines and Itty Bittys. The light green circles are also colored with a Faber-Castell Gelato and a wet brush.

OK… so now it’s up to you! I challenge you to get out your beloved (washi) tapes and favorite stamps and combine the two! Or, if you cannot bare even the thought…, dig up some of that old(er) stash that you have been saving forever and spruce it up with lovely stamped images!

I started by stamping many images from Funky Circles using three colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks on plain white cardstock. It was fun to overlap the images in any way I wanted! The sentiment was stamped from our Oval Office set and layered on more dark purple cardstock. Normally when I work with purple I will pair it with other cool colors such as turquoise, royal blue, or green. This time I opted for a pop of warm orange and loved the result! I stamped a butterfly from Colorful Companions in two shades of orange Distress Ink and cut it out for extra dimension. An orange button and some matching twine tied it all together, literally! Here’s what I made:

A friend of mine was shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of her father. She decided to do something nice for her mom and asked her scrapping pals to make cards to cheer her up. This is the one that I’m sending to share my good wishes. I stamped the clouds from Wishing You Sunshine and the flower stems from Striped Stems. The handwriting-style sentiment comes from Lines of Life and matches well with the whimsical look of the flowers. I really hope it cheers her up. Next time you’re working on a project, why not make a card to send to someone who could use a lift!

Don’t you just love those myStampBOX Itty Bittys?! I know I do! That’s why I decided to show you a few cards I created with this fun and versatile set of small square stamps!

Itty Bitty images are perfect for colouring with your favourite markers or (watercolour) pencils:

And some of the Itty Bittys, like the woodgrain, can be used to create a patchwork background like this one:

The ‘Thanks Friend’ sentiment is part of the myStampBOX Funky Flowers set.

But my favourite Itty Bitty just might be the one with the small dots…

1. These are the colors I used: Worn Lipstick, Picket Fence, and Barn Door. I’m ready for Valentine’s Day!

2. I squeezed the bottles to create puddles of stain on my nonstick craft sheet, making sure that the applicator tips didn’t touch the colors of stain that were already on the sheet. *NOTE: You can do this technique by using Distress Ink stamp pads as well. The key to the marbleizing technique, however, is the white stain. Simply rub the stamp pads onto the craft sheet next to the white stain and continue as shown.

3. I took a piece of kraft cardstock and ran it through the puddles, allowing the colors to mix and blend on the cardstock. This was how it looked after absorbing the first round of stain. I decided that I wanted more coverage, so I wiped my sheet clean and added more stain puddles.

4. In order to help the cardstock absorb the stain more quickly and help the colors blend, I gently spritzed the cardstock with water. My water had a small amount of Perfect Pearls in it which added a lovely shimmer to the background. I continued adding layers of stain until I was happy with the background and dried the cardstock with my heat tool.

Here’s the finished card. I stamped gently onto the marbleized background using Barn Door ink with the heart from Back to the Basics. The bold swirl paper is from our product partner Canvas Corp.

I went digging through my stamps to see what I could put together to create a unique sentiment. I stamped the square from Bold Blocks and added the sassy handwritten phrase from Sigh Gush Gasp. A little extra glitter gel pen on the sentiment and some Scrappers Spools from Karen Foster Design were the final touches. I can’t wait to try new color combinations with this marbelizing technique. Be sure to share your projects if you give it a try!

I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Neighborhoods, and my favorite stamp from this set. I guess this stamp makes me think about my own neighborhood, with the school building and the bus. I just love it! I’ve already made a Halloween card and Christmas card with it. Time for a New Year card. I thought about how my neighborhood looks when the clock strikes midnight on the 31st of December. And I remembered the fireworks! Immediately another favorite stamp set came to my mind, Funky Flowers. Some of the blooms look just like fireworks! OK, here’s how I proceeded.

1) First, I stamped the sentiment on my card base using Summer Alpha and Lots of Numbers sets.

2) Second, on a piece of black cardstock I stamped at the bottom the row of houses and white embossed it. Then on the top portion I stamped some blooms using white ink.

3) The third step consisted in stamping and embossing more blooms on top of white stamping. You know, just like fireworks , some fading and some just blooming.

4) And finally, I’ve assembled everything and my card was finished. Just in time to wish you a Happy, inspired and a very stampy Year!

We have been busy stamping and scrapping all year and before we take a week off, we are going to show you what we have been creating for our friends and families.
