Hey, Cut It Out!

Sometimes I get so excited playing with colored pencils and fun ink techniques that I forget about two very easy ways to use stamps: hand cutting and punching. I used a small circle punch with images from the Seal It stamps and adhered them with pop dots. I also handcut the Letterboxes title letters for this layout and attached them with pop dots as well.  I cut our family name from mirror paper which is tricky to photograph. I hope you can see it a little better in this picture.

Quick side note: I also heat embossed stars onto the background patterned paper using the starburst stamp from Seal It, too!

Next up is a layout that also uses handcut stamped images from the O Christmas Tree! set. I stamped three different trees onto green patterned paper and heat embossed with silver and gold powder. I never get tired of seeing those powders melt!

Since I knew that I would be cutting these images out, I turned the middle tree upside down when stamping to conserve paper. I stamped trunks, heat embossed in copper powder, cut everything out and assembled the trees. I even added a few red gems on the large tree for some added sparkle.

Here’s the finished layout. Have fun punching and cutting out your stamped images from my Stamp BOX!

Enjoy!  – Jolene

Unexpected Colours

I like to play with colour combos that are unexpected. Take green, orange, and brown. Traditionally, these are autumn colours but they don’t have to be. Here I created three different cards using this colour combo and I think you’ll find the outcome unexpected! I also used the one leaf stamp from Floating Leaves to create a large flower on the second card. It`s fun to see what you can come up with when playing with your stamps in different ways!

Mommys Boots

Mommy's Boots

To create this page, I started with the Funky Circles set.  I stamped a design on a white piece of cardstock using black and red ink.  This formed the basis of my page and the rest just evolved from there.  Having all my stamps sitting on my desk upright in the stamp box holder made it super easy to coordinate designs with my page.

The LOVE LOVE LOVE swirl from the He Loves Me set matched perfectly the circular arrow of Kaiser gems.  Even the butterfly from the Colorful Companions set has circles on its wings.

I find myself pulling stamps from the Just Add Notes set often to add just a touch of journaling.  So why not give it a try yourself?  Try mixing and matching your stamps to create a page.

Thanks for stopping by,

Tracey

I’m in the process of making Christmas cards…is that weird? It’s a little weird when I catch myself humming carols at the end of March, but in my defense, Christmas calls are coming out soon for magazines and I just got the “O Christmas Tree” set from my Stamp BOX. Oh. My. It’s adorable. I tried a little bit of masking (I stamped a tree onto cardstock, cut it out and used it as a mask. This allowed my first tree on the card to remain whole, while the second image I stamped, looks like it’s hiding behind the first. A little forest of cutsie Christmas Trees!

Beautiful Butterflies

I love the wonderful butterfly images in the “Colorful Companions” set. You get such a wide variety of styles and each one has a different look.

I used a large butterfly and a medium butterfly to add the final touch to this welcome sign for my home. I stamped the images on patterened paper…

and I used it in a different way for this cute little card – for this one, I stamped the image on white cardstock and used Copic Markers to color in the wings. I used the “miss you” sentiment from the “Small Greetings” set.

And finally, for this card I stamped the images on the patterned paper using black StazOn ink for a crisp image and a nice contrast to the bright, sharp colors. The “Happy Birthday” image is from the “Happy Birthday – small box” set.

For all of my projects, I cut the butterflies out and attached them to the card using Helmar Liquid Scrapdots and they just “Pop”!
