Trend Spotting with myStamp BOX!

Howdy all!  Happy Monday!

Please check our blog tomorrow for the winners of last week’s contests!!!

Today we’re going to talk about TRENDS!  The crafting world has many trends or fads but two of the most popular trends right now are…

Hexagons are ‘all that’ in the crafting world and myStamp BOX has the PERFECT stamp set that follows this trend… Hive of Life.

This is the Life

I designed a circular frame work that perfectly fit the hexagon stamps from the Hive of Life on my die cutting machine, a Klic N’Kut machine.

Then I designed a series of scalloped edges and a card base for my focal hexagon shape.  Below, I used one of the pretty flowers from the Funky Flowers set to add a touch of whimsy to the outer yellow scallops…

I popped the odd hexagon up using foam tape and then added a few stamped leaves from the Floating Leaves set and added some layered flowers, gems and a hat pin for embellishment.

The second trend I love is the use of washi tape!

For my second trend setting card, I created a block of cardstock completely covered in 3 different layered patterned washi tapes.  I then die cut out 2 hearts and added a inner frame of a smaller scalloped heart.

Better Soon

For the finishing touches, I coloured one of the beautiful butterflies from the Colourful Companions set using water based Distress Markers from Ranger and than misted it with water and stamped it on to white cardstock.  I attached the butterfly and a simple greeting from the Lines of Life set and my simple washi tape trending card was complete.  I used some clear acetate as my card base and backed all of my glued on cardstock pieces with cardstock so none of the adhesive I had used showed through.

I hope that you too will take a moment and trend spot.  You never know what will inspire you.  Happy stamping!!
