Welcome to day 2 of our stamping tips. We hope you will pick up some great ideas and inspiration from our Design Team’s shared expertise.
Linda: It is always fun to change the stamp from vertical alignment to horizontal or vice versa. For this project, I modify the sentiment alignment of “Hi, What’s Up?” from Itty Bittys from three rows to a single sentence.
Jaine has a great tip to share:
A masterboard is a good way of making multiple backgrounds for cards or ATC’s using inks, paints and of course stamps.
For my masterboard, I used a sheet of watercolour paper and started by clear embossing the circles from the Funky Flowers and Seal It stamp sets over the surface. For my second layer, I painted over the entire surface with watered down acrylic paints but you could use inks or water colours. I then added a third layer by stamping once again with dye inks using the Friday Night Stencil set. You can add as many layers as you like but there comes a point where you might start to wonder if what you’re doing is actually art? Stick with it, it’s worth it because once you start cutting it up into pieces the design makes perfect sense.
You can use your masterboard for backgrounds, accents or use it in your dye cutting machine as I’ve done here.
Check in tomorrow for more ideas and tips.
Happy Stamping from all of us!
