One of my favorite crafty projects is to make seasonal or holiday pieces to decorate my home. Even a small hand-made item, like this fun “buggy” frame, can brighten any room and add a touch of cheer.
I knew as soon as I saw the adorable dragonfly image in the Funky Flowers set that it would work perfectly with this old thrift store frame to make a sweet springtime decor piece for my front entryway. And it couldn’t have been more easy to create.
I simply cut a square of patterned paper to fit the frame opening and added a bit of stamping and a few simple accents. Two dashed line images stamped directly onto the background paper mimic flight paths. Painted and spritzed Glimmer Mist creates a bit of depth and detail to the paper.
I sprayed more mist on the leftover patterned paper and stamped two dragonflies and three small flowers in brown ink, cut them out, and added them to the frame. Lightly pulling up on the dragonflies’ wings gives them the realistic look of flight and adhesive pearls form the flower centers. I finished off the frame with a button and bow.
I challenge you to transform an old frame into a sweet piece of decoration.
Thanks so much for having me at myStamp BOX this month. It is a lot of fun creating with the Funky Flowers!
Tomorrow I will show you a step-by-step gift wrapping and tag,
