Hey there Stampers!! Maryfrances & Jill here.
We both agree that the greatest inspiration in this business comes from the talented people we surround ourselves with. So……we decided to send each other some project images a few weeks ago to get our creative wheels turning ……….. and to draw inspiration from each other.
We each came up with a “MY Take on YOUR Project” sort of project. Now……… Maryfrances is definitely a whiz when it comes to stampin’ & creating cards. Jill, on the other hand, loves using those fabulous mSB stamp sets on all her layouts. The only rules we had for each other were the mSB stamp sets that we were going to create with. We, of course, picked two of our favourites: Backgrounds and the Mini Alphas stamp sets.
First, Jill sent this mSB LO (Another Reason Why) to Maryfrances for inspiration ……….
………… and Maryfrances created this fabulous card:
She used the Mini Alphas stamp set to create the title on her card; and she replaced the photo in the inspiration LO with a stamped image from the Backgrounds stamp set. Maryfrances even hand-drew journal lines on her card title; one of Jill’s signatures on almost every one of her layouts.
Here’s a close-up of Maryfrances’ card:
Next, Jill sent this LO (Eleven) to Maryfrances to see what she could create …………
………… and, again, another brilliant card:
Notice how she used both sets of stamps to create images on her card. She embossed the images with crisp, white embossing powder to define them. LOVE the trim and the little bird!!! Even the colours stayed consistent with both Jill’s LO and Maryfrances’ card.
Here’s another closer look:
Then it was Jill’s turn to draw inspiration from ”Maryfrances’ TAKE on a card” into another layout for her albums.
Maryfrances sent an image of this card (Thank You) to Jill …………..
………… and this was “Jill’s Take” on it:
Jill used the Backgrounds stamp set and multiple colours of dye ink to stamp across the top of her LO. She used the same colours of ink that are found in her daughter’s jacket in the photo. Jill also drew inspiration from the ribbon in Maryfrances’ card and added her own personal flair. She used a favourite pattern paper and trimmed it with snippets of ribbon, which she machine stitched onto the LO. Jill also mimicked Maryfrances’ use of 3 embellishments by adding her own 3 at the edge of her photo. A simple title using the Mini Alphas stamp set (surrounded by hand journalling) complete the LO.
Here are some close-ups:
We hope you can draw inspiration from some of our design team and from the talented scrapbookers that you surround yourselves with. And we hope you will be inspired to share your projects with your close friends………….you may do a “Double Take” and see something you at one time created shining through.
