personal challenge

A few days ago I was trying to challenge myself to do something new and unusual and decided to use a colour combination that I typically don’t use. I have a hard time using purple, but purple and grey or  black combined are even more difficult for me.

When I was working on some projects using Kiki Art papers, I came upon a cute purple sheet from the Family Collection and decided to give purple a try…

This is what I did: I cut up the sheet into stripes and small squares. The cute images lead to a family related theme and were perfect for my childhood bath time pictures. I complimented the images on the right hand strip with cars from the “Passport to Adventure” stamp set and the outside of the layout with words from the same set. The title is stamped with “Rustic Outlines”.

This definitely was a challenging layout for the colours that I chose, but I am quite happy with the outcome. It’s fun to try something out of your comfort zone ever so often!

What colour combos do you find difficult to use?

Happy stamping,
