A Tissue Please!

There is something about adding texture and dimension to your cards and layouts.  So today I thought I would show you a fun and EASY technique for using your stamps!  Today we’re going to make our own tissue blooms!

Since it never hurts to reuse something you have lying around the house, I started with some white tissue paper I had left over from a gift I had received.

I first cut four approximate 4×4 squares of tissue paper.

Next I took my Itty Bittys’ stamp set and used a stamp pad that had a row of 5 different blue tones of ink and I stamped a different pattern on each piece of tissue.

Then I took one of my pieces of stamped tissue and cut it into 4 even squares again; approximately 1 inch squares.

Then I layered all four pieces, one on top of each other to create a tissue sandwich.

I carefully folded my stack of tissue into a little tiny fan.

Then I took a large brad and put the fan in between the 2 prongs, right in the middle of fan.

I pinched my fan layers carefully back together and rounded the ends of the fan using my scissors.

Then I VERY carefully began to fluff up my individual layers of tissue to get the look of a flower.

This is what my flower looked like after fluffing up each layer of tissue!  Isn’t it pretty??!  And so EASY to make!!

I wanted to see if I could try something a little different with my second bloom, so I cut my square of tissue into 2 larger and 2 smaller rectangles and built my fan using these sized layers instead with the 2 smaller pieces on the top layers of my fan.

For this one, I cut the ends of my tissue to a point instead of rounding them.

And this was my end result…

I took the remainder of my stamped tissue pieces and created two more blooms for a total of four blue blooms…

Each bloom turned out to be just a little different; a different patterned tissue, a different brad and a different cut petal shape.

I took my blooms and created this fun card to place them on.  I used more of the Itty Bittys stamps to create my embossed resist back ground and my greeting.

I hope that you’ll take a chance and grab some tissue and give these simple blooms a try!

Thanks for checking out my work today.  You can see more of my work in my myStampBOX gallery here.  I’m always adding new inspiration for you to check out!

Happy Stamping!
