Step by Step : Personalize your cards!

I love to make my cards personalized by using a photo of the person who is going to receive the card – or about the topic the card is related to.

roadtripcardFor this card that is for our friends we recently did a roadtrip with I used the wonderful and versatile mSB Road Trip Stampset.

Here is how I created the card:

msb_01All you need is some paper that fits your theme, the mSB Road Trip Stampset, Distress ink, Distress Powder and Kraftpaper.

msb_02I stamped with yellow Distress Ink onto Kraftpaper since I worked with Distress Embossing Powder later on.

msb_03Shake the bottle with the Distress Powder well, so that the release particles inside are mixed into the powder.Shake the Powder on top of the still wet stamped image. Put excess powder back into container.

msb_04I used the Distress Powder and in this color because it symbolizes the desert that we drove through with our friends during our roadtrip from LasVegas to the Grand Canyon, through Monument Valley to Arches, Bryce and Zion Nationalpark.  Heat with a Heating Gun.

msb_05Rub with your finger over the embossed image to rub off the release particles.

msb_06This actually is the part where it becomes distressed – but as we stamped in beforehand with the colored Distress Ink the Writing is still readable. Do not put the release particles back into the container as this would mess up the ratio in the container.

msb_07Choose a picture that goes with your theme. I chose one of all four of us and printed it out in index-print size so that I could attach the photo behind the windshiled of the car.

For some extra dimension I attached the car with 3-D Foam.

msb_09I also used the tag and the Par Avion stamp from the mSB Road Trip Stampset.

msb_10

msb_11I used the Handle with care stamp from the set to stamp a border.

msb_12And there you go…your personalized card is ready to go. I will send out mine to our friends with a CD of our pictures from the trip and I’m sure they will laugh at the personalized card with our photo inside :)

Have fun to personalize your cards too!
