Good morning everyone,
Today I would like to show you that a stamp set does not necessarily HAVE to be used in the way that it was intended. I tend to think out of the box whenever possible and come up with something a little different. Most of the time it really is nothing spectacular, more a “why didn’t I think of that earlier” kinda brain-flash.
But enough with the words, let’ s see some action. Are you ready?
The following picture of my other half and myself has actually been scrapped by me two times already but I was never satisfied with the end result but once I got my mitts on the >> A Tree For All Seasons << Stamp set – I knew I had the stamp to provide the perfect embellishment for my layout.

I also used the >> Just Add Notes << set again – the date seal was my chosen favourite for my layout

Using a Versamark-pad I stamped the snowflake pattern directly onto the top of the photograph and part of the patterned paper. Then I sprinkled some white embossing powder over the stamped image, tapped off the excess powder and with my heat gun, began the embossing process. **TIP** always use your heat gun from UNDERNEATH the area that should be embossed. That way you will prevent accidental burns, loose powder blowing off and setting where you don’t want it to go. It will take a little longer but it it is worth the added time in the end.

Can you spot the embossed snowflakes on the layout? They are underneath the title and “tumble” right into the picture. I love that thanks to the design of the stamp, they really look as of they belong to the photograph. And looking at them it doesn’t seem that the tree trunk from the stamp set is missing, does it?
If you have used your myStampBox stamps in a different way then their initially intended use, why not link us to your project? We would love to see how you get creative!
