Stamping on a transparency

I have always loved the Hambly transparencies but I find them so expensive, so I rarely buy them.

I was looking around in my local office supply store, when I saw a box of plain transparencies, and I thought…hey, why dont I make my own decorative transparencies?!

To start, take one plain transparency, either staz on ink or versamagic(I used the white versamagic because it is easy to clean off the stamps, and it dries quickly)

Take one or more stamps and stamp repeatedly onto the transparency. I stamped on an entire 8.5 x 11 sheet, but trimmed a piece to use on my layout, and saved the other butterflies to cut out to layer over it.

I adhered the stamped side of the transparency onto the patterned paper, so the dry side would be safe to work with.

To make the 3D transparency butterflies, trim the stamped butterflies, fold in half, and adhere in the center(the body) over the stamped transparency sheet.

**I used Helmar adhesive because the hold is so strong that I knew these 3D butterflies wouldnt be going anywhere.

Stamp sets I used on here:

For the card “just a little hello”

I used the stamp sets Oval Office, Seal it! and He loves me…

I trimmed a Prima transparency to fir the bottom half of the card, and then used Versamagic ink to stamp the title directly onto the front of the transparency.

I stamped and cut out circles to make the flowers and flower centers, and used Tim Holtz distressing ink to stamp the flower stems directly onto the transparency(Word of advice, Tim Holtz distressing ink does NOT work wekk on transparencies..no matter how long you let it sit, it will never dry on the transparency)

Thanks for looking, and I would love to see what you have made using my Stamp BOX stamps and transparencies.

Hay, I allways like to check your work. I love your style and advices. I allways thought that only StazOn is good enough for transparencies. Does Versamagic not smear on the surface, what about if you touch? I would like to buy ink to use on transparencis, but I don`t know which one.Thanks.Tina

I love the butterflies! You are talented. I never would’ve thought of doing that. I’m still looking for new ways to use the Tim Holtz stamps I bought recently. They have the newest release at Christina’s Crafts. You might want to check it out. I’m loving it!
