masking tutorial

so along the line of keeping it simple, I am going to show you how to mask.

step 1: stamp your image onto the page.

step 2: stamp the same image onto a sticky note and cut it out. Then stick over top of the image you previously stamped.

Step 3: then take a different colour of ink and stamp another image over top. go darker if you would like, it will stand out much bolder. But don’t worry, where the sticky note is will protect your image underneath.

Masking allows you to be able to use lot’s of light and dark colours without having the “overlap”. It makes the images more crisp, individual.

So while I was working on this project, I decided to limit myself to the same stamp set & only a handful of ink colours. When working with minimal products, you can create some fun simple cards that still have a huge impact. I’m not the best card maker, sometimes I get overwhelmed working on small surface areas, so I find that if I limit myself to minimal embellishments, than the stamps really shine and maintain the focus of the card!

for this one I stamped all the images and then decided to use sakura glaze pens and colour in some of the images. fun stuff.
